The workshop leader saw that I was interested in this old drive-thru section of the diner remains. He suggested shooting in black and white to add to the interest. It makes me think of today’s iterations of the “drive-thru.” In Ohio they have the “carry out,” everywhere there is a Sonic or McDonalds, and of course, banks. But since this old diner documents the famous Route 66, I’d imagine it represents the early beginnings of traveling Americans eating in their cars. — GB —
