Anegada, BVI - Juvie

This is a juvenile iguana of the endangered kind found on Anegada --- caught in the wild --- and perhaps only a few days old. It will be brought to a "headstart" center in The Settlement on Anegada, examined, tagged, and allowed to grow large enough in confinement there until it can fend off predators that have been introduced to the island, mostly cats. Then (maybe two or three years from now) it will be released into the wild again, probably not far from where it was hatched. So goes trying to repopulate an endangered animal.
